Apeface is the brainchild of Sontee Ijoho, a Nigerian visual and digital artist whose life experiences have taken him across the globe both physically and emotionally from his humble beginnings as the boy in a Nigerian boarding school that, as was often pointed out among his fellow boys, most resembled a gorilla.

Having been privileged enough to overcome his past enough to laugh about it today and lucky enough to collaborate with like-minded and kind-hearted individuals, Sontee began Apeface as a platform from which to spread empathy and encourage self-love in a world that can always use more of these virtues.
